· Hire an A or B player for high trust/high performance…which correlates with high engagement.
· Character (foundational), Competency (what), Collaboration (how)
· Effective managers increase productivity, increase commitment and engagement, have higher employee retention.
· The shadow of the leader is 2 levels down.
· Track turnover by level of performance. Seek to address top 2 levels.
· Digital workplace should be intuitive: engage, empower, enable, encourage interaction.
· The average square feet/employee is = 275, costing $11K annually; a telecommuter costs $700/year.
