Our family went on our first Disney cruise recently, and the kids loved it. For me, I was impressed with the staff, which represented 64 countries. They worked seamlessly to provide a wonderful customer experience.
A few years ago, I was at a global strategy and leadership conference in Miami that a company’s new CEO had convened, titled “Create the Future.” I sat at a table with representatives from Great Britain, Canada, Dominican Republic, Brazil, UAE, and Netherlands. They purposely celebrated the different cultures, as the meeting was scheduled after the US holiday of July 4th, yet the French holiday is July 14th…so representatives from that country sang their national anthem at the conference. As we shared humor on the different accents, we bonded as a group…and then sang Happy Birthday to Dimitri….from Moscow.
How do you create the future organizational culture which bonds across differences, while celebrating those differences, in order to provide a seamless customer experience?
