Virgin Galactic sold 26 tickets at $200K a piece for spaceflights, in the hopes of launching by the end of 2012.
They didn’t.
However, this does not replace our fascination with space and the future possibilities.
What might your company create in the future?
For many people, the realities of today limit their ability to consider the possibilities of tomorrow.
During organizational strategy sessions, some organizations try to “space travel” far enough into the future to free employees from the boundaries of today’s reality. They do this while also pushing for specifics about the future. Once verbalized, they then design a coherent process of tasks/steps required to accomplish this future possibility. Finally, to make sure everyone is aligned, they build consensus on the future vision and the steps needed to get there.
