Change Management

Technology is automating work at an unprecedented rate.
This work augmentation is drastically improving productivity:

  • Insurance companies have software that can take a picture of a car and compute the amount of claim
  • AI algorithms can read X-rays twice as well as seasoned radiologists
  • Voice recognition can type 300% faster
  • An uptick in interest for human-to-machine communication is fast-tracking Natural Language Processing
  • 8 million industrial robots handling routine, repetitive, standardized jobs/tasks tasks; will be 2.6 million by end of 2019 (Source: International Federation of Robotics)
  • Self-driving cars and trucks
  • Amazon’s Go store – technology tracks shopping carts without cashiers (Source: Bloomberg Technology)

Artificial intelligence can already listen to our voice, understand when we are under stress, monitor our heart beat…and give personal recommendations!

This also means that companies must continuously re-skill their employees. Some will, and some won’t. If you are at the latter, then you must invest in personal reinvention in order to recreate yourself as your job changes. Oxford University says that 7% of jobs will disappear in the next 20 years. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics says that an individual will have 12-14 careers in their lifetime.

Are you ready to let go of “you are what you do” in order to re-skill for the future?
